Natalie Curtis was born in Macclesfield, UK in 1979 and is a graduate of Manchester School of Art’s Photography programme. She is a long-time collaborator of notorious arts venue and nightclub The White Hotel in Salford. Working within the realms of portraiture and landscape, her practice often concerns the point where myth and document meet. She frequently utilises low light and is as interested in how an experience feels as she is in how it looks (her photography has been described as emotional). She has exhibited in Manchester’s Piccadilly Station, with her light box installation SWAYS Stills, a night in the life of SWAYS Records. More recently, her debut gallery show, Malibu Night Waves, took place at Galerie Arnaud Lefebvre in Paris. She currently splits her time between London and Manchester.
