Edith Marie Pasquier argues that the poetic image holds the potential to be the political image - the variants of the poetic are dissected in her work through a series of performative experiments, dialogues, writings and photographic studies. Her attention has been to the ‘other’ - to the haunting of hierarchical silencing  and violence -  to the invisibility of voice.  Her observations, sited in ecologically fragile sites both urban and rural, call for a pensive image, or a thinking, sounding image that addresses such silences and voices what is to be heard.

Pasquier has received photographic awards and commissions from a variety of institutions such as Film London, The Serpentine Gallery London and Bildmuseet in Sweden.  She has exhibited in Europe and the USA and has a PhD in photography (AHRC Fellowship) with The Royal College of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
Pasquier received her MA In Photography at The Royal College of Art, and is in public and private collections, including the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London.
